Boyne Wedding

This is part 2 from yesterdays preview. The wedding was at Sommerset Yacht Club in Boyne City. Since I had been to Boyne before, I knew this was going to be beautiful, but I think I was a little blind sided with how amazingly beautiful it actually was. I torn between giving my thoughts on the day, with all my commentary, or letting the images speak for themselves. So, I will say a few things.

First off, I am going to point out how much work went into this wedding. Sometimes I feel like brides hire me to create magically photographs for them, but beyond the emotion of the day, there is nothing else for me to photograph. Getting photographs like these require a lot of preparation for all of these creative details. I have so many images to share because Ali created a LOT for me to photograph.

Second, I need to explain why I was so invested in this wedding. I had met Ali once before our first consultation, so we did not really know each other. I feel like I became invested in her wedding the minute our consultation started … because she was invested in it. She had details and plans for her concept. A wedding without a concept is a really plain wedding. All brides are excited about their weddings, but Ali was also excited about the details, the dresses, the vendors and the location. It was so contagious. By the end of the wedding I actually WANTED to stay longer (so I did). I wanted to give her oodles and oodles of images that she loved. She was so kind to me that I didn’t just want to reciprocate, I HAD to.

So here is my work, Ali’s work, and minimal commentary:

Wow, Ali. Just wow.

Taylor Swaim - Valerie you were absolutely AMAZING! The photos are beautiful and I love the happiness and love you were able to capture in the photographs. There is one of Ali and Dan that definitely put a huge smile on my face and even made me giggle outloud! Thank you in helping me, my family, and my new family in remembering what a wonderful day it was. I am not sure if Ali mentioned that I work as an event coordinator at the Bay Harbor Village Hotel in Petoskey, but either way I will be dropping your name and getting you on our vendors list that we distribute to our brides. Best wishes!
