Choose colors that match your skin tone
Why would you choose colors that match your skin tone? You want to choose colors that match your skin tone because it will make your skin look healthy and your clothes will look complementary to your skin tone.
Zoha: Portage Central Senior
Zoha was a Portage Central High School last summer. Now she’s at the University of Michigan and scheduled to graduate in 2022. She enjoys tennis, writing for the school newspaper, volunteering at the nursing home, the hospital and her position in both the Earthling club and Student Senate. She wants to work in the medical field, probably pediatrics after college, as it is the next step to achieving her goal of being a doctor. Zoha is so determined and focused, I have no doubt that nothing will stop her from achieving her goals.
Notice how she took “choose colors that match your skin tone” to heart.
The three words she uses to describe herself are genuine, diligent, and compassionate, which I have to agree describe her perfectly. Zoha was such a delight to work with! She has a very caring personality that really came through during her session. Her bucket list includes traveling to Spain and trying a variety of new foods, zip lining somewhere tropical, and learning how to ice skate.
Her definition of true beauty
True beauty is someone that is thoughtful, compassionate, and cares about others with a passion that shows true genuinity. True beauty is someone is beautiful when they are able to bring their light into other people’s lives, and act as a space of comfort and happiness for others. Someone is beautiful when they are confident, and believe in themselves and their abilities. Someone is beautiful when they intuitive, smart, hardworking, and brave. And lastly, someone is
beautiful when they realize that among their appearance their character reflects who they are– most truly.
Zoha loves to shop at Loft, American Eagle and Free People and she loves to wear burnt maroon because it has the ability to reflect any of her moods: cheerful, happy, gloomy or mellow. I feel like she wore a lot of colors that worked really well for her during her session. We styled orange outfits because that seems to go really well with her skin tone.
When it came to her vision for her photo session she wanted it to be fun and complete all her fantasies of getting a makeover and having a modeling session. She wanted to fall in love with her surroundings and feel more in her element than ever before. She was prepared to obtain this goal with some amazing outfits that included a wide variety of colors and styles of clothing, a gorgeous maroon jacket and a dazzling yellow dress.
This was one of my favorite outfits from her session because it looked very Spanish. The embroidered top portion looked so great with her skin tone. It think it’s pretty fitting that this was our favorite – considering she has Spain on her bucket list. Oh my gosh, going to Spain for a destination senior session would be amazing! I need to organize that! Who wants to come with me?!?!
She was excited to work with Valerie Ott Photography because she found herself wishing that she could be photographed the same way my previous clients were, and she loved the way I capture people’s personalities and the classiness of my photos. Make sure to sign up for your session soon as spots are starting to fill up!
