Feel Beautiful

overseas I do not have a daughter, but I know if I did I would want her to feel beautiful. Keyword there is feel. If only we would grow up knowing that feeling is the key to everything. I wish we were taught to feel all the good stuff without the fear of being too self righteous.

Against The Drama

So much drama happens between the ages of 12 and 18. I wish I could just say “poof” and make the drama disappear, but I can’t. It exists. As momma’s, we want to protect against the drama (and it happens for boys too!). There seems to be so little that we can do to make our girls feel beautiful, but this is golden.

The Right Photographer Is Key

The right photographer is key – it’s what makes it golden. Sure, your friend or her friend can take pretty pictures of your daughter, but is their goal making her feel beautiful? Probably not. That is my utmost goal. I use techniques of posing, composition, lighting and photography-skill to maximize what the outcome is. 

When my goal is making her feel good about herself that means that I know how to pose her, sure, but I also know what to say to elicit feelings. When I pour on the love and attention, she is allowed to feel good about herself. 

Not Just a Senior Session

So I guess you can say that you aren’t just buying a senior session. You are buying a little bit of love and attention and a lot of focus on how she feels. She will feel confident, beautiful and relaxed. 

I can’t think of many things you can do for your daughter that will build confidence, but this is a boost in the right direction. Mauve when someone tells you that you are allowed to feel beautiful, you can start to believe them.

I Can Show Her

Not only can I tell her is allowed to feel beautiful, but I can also show her with my own perspective. I see the world the way my camera sees the world. My camera sees how beautiful someone is and doesn’t lie. I will let your daughter see how beautiful she is through my lens. Again, can your friend who takes nice pictures do that?
