Another one from one of my favorite schools, Gull Lake.
Zoe happened to have one of the coldest locations I can remember for 2018 graduates. It was a cold day, but this particular location was in a little valley that created the worst, cold, blowing wind and made her FREEZE during her senior session. But take a look at these images. You would never, ever know she was cold from these pictures. She must have known to turn off that part of her expression, because she doesn’t look cold in any of these images.
This was probably the worst of it, but here she is. Sitting perfectly, with her books and her journals, making the most out of it. It was still an amazing experience, even if we did all freeze.
But beyond freezing, it was actually a very, very fun session because we used a really unique location. I feel like the summer of 2017 was all about trying new things for me. And Zoe was willing to go along for the ride and try things with me. So we picked this great location that was different from everyone else. It ended up being perfect for this fall day because it showed so many beautiful, rich colors.
Zoe was busy with Model UN and volunteering during her senior year. But more fun than both of those is her job at her parents jewelry store, downtown Kalamazoo. Her parents bought a jewelry story and made it their own. Designing and selling jewelry would be so much fun. Just imagine how good you make people feel, when they get to wear art everyday, because that’s what jewelry is – art!
Good luck at WMU next year. And maybe I will see you soon when I stop in to buy some pieces of jewelry to wear!
