I just wanted to say Happy Halloween to all of you out there.
Sarah did it! She challenged herself to do 31 Days of Halloween Makeup, and I am overjoyed. It’s funny to say that I am overjoyed by makeup, but let me tell you why. I visited Mexico when I was in college and I bought several alebrijes. After that I felt connected to this little things. Alebrijes originated in Oaxaca, Mexico. They are wood carvings of “spirit animals” that are associated with the Day of the Dead. I loved my alebrijes! They are special to Sarah because they are part of her Mexican heritage.
Here are a couple of the alebrijes from Oaxaca that she used as inspiration:
Next inspiration is this cat. This cat is cute, but not as cute as the mouse I saw. You can see some of the cutest mice on Pinterest HERE. The ones with the big ears are my favorite!
The amount of time that Sarah spent on this was insane! She created this look with painstaking detail. (I bet you are a little jealous that I got to see the whole thing!)
Happy Halloween! Enjoy your day and don’t eat too much candy!
