Yep, it’s the stickers for me. I love this set of images because it’s simple, yet so creative and kitschy. And of course, kitschy was our theme this year! If stickers all over the face aren’t kitschy, I don’t know what is. (Why did I hear myself read that sentence in the voice of Moira Rose?)
I Promise To Do Better
I want to roll out a couple more images from each session this year. In the past, I haven’t always been the best about sharing all the images on social media, but my goal is to show them ALL off this year.
This Was One Of The First Inspirations
This was one of the first inspirations for this whole thing as we were researching what kitschy and tacky meant to us. I feel like it came to us really easily; the whole thing – the stickers, the wig, the look, the outfit. It came super easy. Just like you as a child put stickers on yourself, me as a child, I would dress up my Barbies and do photo shoots with them. I never stopped, but instead of Barbies, I have my Bee Squad.
Sarah’s Thoughts: I look at this and I think of that little girl who wants to wear makeup, but isn’t quite old enough so she decorates her skin with stickers.
Valerie’s Thoughts: I almost feel that is a good analogy for Ashley. She doesn’t necessarily care about makeup but when she does do herself up, she is very natural. She is gorgeous with and without makeup, but she has this model-like quality when she does have makeup on that is absolutely beautiful. I look forward to the times that Ashley wants to photograph with me.
