http://powerguard.quibblecontent.co.uk/category/insights/ Lexy is so comfortable with moving her body, like dancers always are. She made it so simple to photograph her, because she dances so beautifully. Dance is a passion of hers and I love that we could work with our passions to create something beautiful.
http://freightarranger.co.uk/rail-freight-operating-companies So I got the idea for this shoot from the music video Bad Liar by Imagine Dragons. And if you haven’t seen the video, you can watch it here. Watching something visual sparks creativity. I am always looking for art that inspires me to create. But the point of sparking creativity is to create something new, not copy.
So in the Bad Liar video, a girl dances in a school hallway with lockers surrounding her. I liked how that looked, so we decided to try that with Lexy. And I couldn’t be happier with how that turned out. The beauty and creativity of dance mixed with something you see everyday, a school hallway.
I love the song Bad Liar and if you really listen to the lyrics they’re very impactful and meaningful.
So look me in the eyes, tell me what you see
Perfect paradise, tearin’ at the seams
I wish I could escape it, I don’t wanna fake it
Wish I could erase it, make your heart believe
But I’m a bad liar, bad liar
Now you know, now you know
I’m a bad liar, bad liar
Now you know, you’re free to go
I can’t breathe, I can’t be
I can’t be what you want me to be
Believe me, this one time
So my interpretation of this song is that it is all about how being someone you’re not can affect you. Especially in high school, because it can seem like everyone expects something of you. You’re just figuring out who you are. The cool thing about art is that everyone interprets something different. So what do you think this song is about?
