Yes, I photograph senior guys. I get asked that all the time. I am just bad at showing off pictures of guys. Let me fix that by showing off Logan.
Theory Of Dads
Let’s talk about when dads come to a senior session. I have a theory first.
My theory is that when a dad wants to come to a senior session it’s different than when a dad has to come to a senior session. When a dad wants to come to a senior session I find his personality is different than the normal dad. The dad that wants to come to a senior session has a personality that makes everyone laugh. Usually this dad has a great relationship with his daughter, and can joke around with her to lighten the whole room.
They Make Good Sessions
Of the few times that dads have come to senior sessions I have found that they are the absolute best senior sessions possible. Maybe it’s because dad’s don’t allow their daughters to take themselves too seriously leading to more laughter. Or maybe it’s because dad’s are using humor as a mechanism to deal with the fact that their daughters are growing up. Either way dad’s add an element to a senior session we can’t duplicate.
I first met Logan’s dad, Jamie when I photographed his sister Abby’s senior session, which you can see HERE. He was the most chill dad I have ever had come to a senior session. He did not disappoint with the amount of humor he brought with him. Both Sarah and I found ourselves stopping to talk to him when we should have been photographing Logan. Aries personality was so similar to her dad’s that it was easy to get along with everyone.
Working With Old Friends
When we started Logan and his senior session we just picked up where we had left off. I love it when clients make it feel like I’m just working with old friends for an hour or two. Just like my own dad.
Jamie, You Win
Jamie, you win for best dad at a senior session ever.
Logan’s session was downtown Kalamazoo. If you are interested in what’s happening downtown that would make great photos, check HERE.
