A statement I hear a lot is:
"I need to wait until all my children graduate from high school before I will display pictures on the wall."
My question to that statement is WHY?
Why are you waiting for each child to graduate? You should celebrate this milestone for each individual child. Each person will have a turn at going through life events. Portraits should be on the wall, not on your computer.

Be afraid and do it anyway.

I read a book once that told me to name my fear/anxiety. I decided to call her Tammy because at the time I was binging Parks and Rec and Ron had two ex-wives, both named Tammy. The book told me to recognize anytime fear or anxiety came up and call her by her name. Call her out. Tell that nasty b**ch that she isn't welcome.

I am feeling all sorts of anxiety today because it was a tough weekend. I recognized Tammy in the room on several occasions. If found it very, very helpful to have a name to recognize her. It didn't take my anxiety away completely, but it was reassuring to know she was there.

I spent so many years not know why I had anxiety. I refused to recognize the cause of my fear. I wanted to ignore it, but that never worked. Instead I had to work through it. I am still working through it. I'm waiting for the day I can be on the other side. It takes time. It takes willingness. It takes recognition. Tammy.

Go ahead and give your fear/anxiety a name. It helps.
