I’m going back to showing off the before and afters because they were such a big hit. Here we go:
Gah. What can I say about this session? Everything?!? I loved it so much. It was technically my first senior session for the Class of 2019 in the summer of 2018. It absolutely made my heart sing.
We decided to do her senior session at one of my favorite new locations in town, Factory Coffee. The owner of Factory Coffee was gracious enough to let us use the location for a session. It’s quiet little coffee shop that has a unique style to it.
One of my favorite moments during the session was when I ordered a coffee for a prop. I was going to drink the coffee afterwards, so I ordered what I wanted. Some of you may know this, but I choose a diet with no extra sugar added to anything (yes, anything) so I drink my decaffeinated coffee black. Kailyn took a sip of my coffee and said it was sour. Of course we all laughed. Ok, maybe I drink gross coffee, but it was a cute prop!
Another thing that I loved about this session was Kailyn’s fearless attitude toward the clothes that we picked out for her. Sarah Major is helping me style all of my seniors and she did a great job with Kailyn’s wardrobe.
Kailyn said she describes herself as kind, selfless, and mature. Yep, yep and yep. Her kindness oozes out of her. In fact, her kindness is what I love about her.
Her quote on beauty is kinda killer. Here is what she said:
“Beauty, Isn’t about how you look, it’s about what’s inside. True beauty is when you’re putting other before you, for example, smiling at someone if they’re having a bad day.”
I love that she shows her maturity, selfness and kindness in her quote about beauty. It’s really fitting.
Beyond Factory Coffee we were able to pop downtown Kalamazoo for a hot minute and shoot in some alleyways and around the streets. I hope her session made her feel good about herself because by the end of it I was singing her praises. She was so easy going that she made it a walk in the park. Some sessions are a lot of work, but not Kailyn’s!
I am almost full for the month of July. I haven’t checked my August calendar yet, but I have a feeling that it is booked as well. It’s hard to believe that June is finished and we are entering the hot part of the summer. My favorite part!
