Meet Valerie, your photographer!
Here are three things you probably didn’t know about Valerie!
- I lived in Kansas, very very briefly, after college. I wanted to spread my wings and try something new. It didn’t last long, because I missed home. I am happy I had that experience, and I would recommend that everyone try it once in her life.
- I went through a phase where I didn’t wash my hair for six months. It was a “no poo” movement. (Don’t worry, it was cleaned with baking soda and vinegar instead of shampoo.) I thought I was being healthy. It ended when I put coconut oil in my hair and it looked so greasy. Good thing that happened BEFORE Instagram.
- I eat a very healthy diet with almost no sugar additives. However, I am a sucker for Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs, Trees, and Hearts. (You know the ones that are slightly bigger than cups?) I will stockpile those so they last me a long time.
Number one on Valerie’s bucket list is to visit Australia.
It’s no secret that my favorite thing to do is travel. I have been to some pretty amazing places. As I get older, the desire gets deeper. Lots of my free time is devoted to researching where I want to go. Australia is probably the most difficult place, because it is the farthest possible location from Michigan.
Number two on Valerie’s bucket list is to photograph a specific location.
There is one location in the United States that I have wanted to photograph for years. It’s a super secret location though, so I can’t tell you exactly where it is. But it involves: the desert, old lights, and a graveyard, but not a lot of people.
Lastly, a few of Valerie’s favorite things are the restaurant Food Dance in Kalamazoo, travelling, Dry Bar, and Lululemon.
