These black and white studio shots were really fun

These black and white studio shots were really fun to create. I used a simple background. You would never know the color because obviously these images are in black and white, with all the color extracted. But the color of the background was actually raspberry. It’s one of my favorite colors to shoot on, however I don’t use it very much because it doesn’t go with everything. It takes a special type of outfit to show off raspberry and not have it be overwhelming.

I noticed a year or two ago, there were a lot of oversized jackets in magazines like Vogue. Always be curious about how those translate into what we wear. I noticed a lot of gigantic coats. They were piled on top of one another. I love layers, but I am still not sure how to layer coats. That’s a joke.

Common objection: But I can't get my whole family

Common objection: But I can't get my whole family together!
I know. I sucks. Not everyone can be there. But that doesn't mean it still can't happen. You can have half your family there and still feel good about the pictures. Think of it like an experience. My _________ (fill in the blank, son, daughter, spouse, etc) couldn't make it, but I still had fun with my other children. It's ok. Your other family members won't be upset that they weren't included. It's just the way it is.

Puppers is part of the family too. You can include them as part of the family photos, but just have realistic expectations surrounding their participation. Sometimes the are camera ready. Sometimes they want to pee on your leg. You never know.
