Have to have to the time to send some special notes. We can be creative, but do you know what is better than 2 people being creative? SEVERAL people being creative. So we asked for collaboration.
By now you probably could guess the theme of the gala. It’s FLORALS! We brought in an event planner, who specializes in florals. Brooke from Stellaluna Events did an amazing job creating for us. Here’s a little about Brooke:
My story begins at a cozy home on Pine Lake. Weekends at Grandma’s lake house was always a special treat for me and were filled with boat rides, swimming and tea parties on the deck. As it grew dark, Grandma would read me my favorite bedtime story, Stellaluna. She would shine a flashlight and claim it was Luna, the moon, dancing along the wall.
I strive to create those same memories and feelings of selfless love and pure happiness that I felt at the lake with every event I touch.
Most weekends you can find me at the lake or camping in beautiful Northern Michigan. I’m a vegetarian, animal lover, soft pretzel connoisseur and determined gal in pursuit of lake living. I love all outdoor celebrations and swoon over light and airy photography.

Our next creative is Sarah Major. She has been a big part of the gala since before the gala we even born. She was sitting in my studio several years ago and I asked if her high school girls would like a program where they give back. She said yes and volunteered to be a part of the founding year. She stared in the first ever gala.
This year, Sarah played a big part in organizing our gala shoots. She seemed to be my left arm; always there when I needed ANYTHING. We are really excited that her role is expanding to help more with styling sessions in 2018.
Sarah is a Fashion Merchandising major at WMU and now she is adding contracted stylist to her resume!

Our surprise guest at the gala will be Adam Freeman. Adam is known around town as DJ AF and DJ’s for private parties, weddings and events. He was kind enough to volunteer his incredible talent at our gala. We need to give props to him for offering his time based on a Facebook conversation. He didn’t know a lot about the gala, but I think maybe my passion for it drew him in. I am so excited to hear what kind of atmosphere he creates for us!
