Glue On her Body
I’m not joking about things we could glue on her body. We literally put glue on her body to adhere pom poms.
Emma seems like such a quiet person; however when she talks about the Bee Squad she lights up. I think she is truly comfortable in front of the camera and doesn’t have to apologize for it. I love that about her.
You might notice one small difference between this image and the image that I originally posted. The background color is different. I shot all of these images on a green screen and changed the color in post processing. Now I can’t decide if I like the pink for the orange better. The orange is more kitschy, hence I will land there. But let’s be honest. We aren’t looking at the background, we are looking at what is glued to her body.

Our Thought Process
Sarah’s Thoughts: She’s so bizarre. Nothing makes sense.
Valerie’s Thoughts: That is the perfect analogy for this image. It doesn’t make any sense.
Sarah: She has a metal tank top, with poof balls on her arms. And a Russian hat with one orange eye. Just one. And we used glue on her body, which we probably should not have.

It Doesn’t Make Sense
Valerie: I think that is what I love about this one. None of it makes sense. That is the process we go through to create. We take out the ability to reason with these images and create something outside the box. Notably, that is why I feel like this is an image that you would see in a magazine because it doesn’t follow the rules.

Let’s Hear it For Pom Poms
Sarah: I remember that with her, because she was a couple into the photographing schedule. It took me a minute to break the norm of what we should photograph. One teal eye brow means that the other one has to be teal. Once we got to Emma we said “No. I don’t have to do that. We don’t have to do anything normal. Let’s put pom poms on her arms. Let’s glue them on her body.” The realization hit that there are no rules. The rules that you think there are, let’s just smash them into a million pieces. That’s what happened here.
