Stupid, crazy, cool. Stupid layers is about adding layers to clothes to make an outfit that you wouldn’t normally make. When you add things that do not conventionally go together you get a more interesting look.
Adding layers of textures, prints, patterns and colors are incredible and will add more interest to your outfit. It’s not typically done in America, but other countries combine layers to clothes for more stylish and put together outfits. I usually find my inspiration from magazines like Vogue and Vanity Fair.
You can see more stupid layers from my other sessions. I played dress up with all my bee influencers. Kenna wore some amazing wide leg pants to show off her legs. And you can see her images here. Kelsey also wore some amazing pieces, like sequin pants and knee high boots, and you can see her session here. Maddy wore a darling ascot with a polka dot top, so check out her images here. And in Kalie’s session I had her wearing a plaid skirt with white tennis shoes and a fabulous beret, so click here to see her session.
Stand Out
Stupid, dope, lit, sick layers. Wear them all. Don’t worry about standing out. Because trust me, you’re going to stand out, but in a good way. I’m sure Elise secretly thought I was insane when I was telling her to wear feathered earrings with a sundress layered over a lace top. But hey, it works!
Honestly, fashion is all about trial and error. But if you don’t try it, you’d never know that your sundress actually looks amazing layered over a high neck lace top. There are definitely times when I’ve tried some things on together and immediately looked in the mirror and realized that I looked like a crazy person. But for all those times, I’ve been surprised to realize how good it looks when I layer two TOTALLY different pieces of clothing. And stupid layers are perfect for when you want to make your summer pieces transition to the colder months, little life hack for you.
If you could wear anything that you wanted without worrying what people thought, what would you wear?
