How It Went Down
http://debenhamdental.co.uk/?wordfence_lh=1 I got an interesting compliment during this session. Here is how it went down.
buy Pregabalin with paypal “I know you will just blow this off, because you can’t take compliments well, but you are an artist. You don’t just take photographs, but you see things in an artistic way. You really need to accept this compliment.”
That dug in a little. Let me explain. The person saying this has known me longer than any other friend. We have been friends since 11th grade. You know the kind of friend that you have a secret language with? That kind of friend. So she has the right to tell it like it is. She knows the truth. She understands probably better than most.
So when she said “you can’t take compliments well” I thought I should probably listen to her. Can I really not take compliments well? I guess I haven’t thought about it much.
Take A Compliment
I guess I shrug off compliments. My first thought is, sure that’s nice, but there is always room for improvement. You can always get – be – do better. I probably come off as not accepting compliments for this reason.
But then I think, isn’t it rude NOT to accept a compliment? What does not accepting a compliment look like? If I complimented someone, and they shrugged it off, I would probably think they really weren’t listening. Or maybe they didn’t believe in themselves. It’s possible they didn’t believe the compliment itself.
I think I just talked my way through that one.
I was listening to her compliment. Yes. I make art with photographs.
Believing in myself is hard, but I do believe in myself as an artist and as a photographer. Sometimes.
I believe in the compliment that I see things in an artistic way. I graciously accept.
So thank you Tricia. I accept the compliment. I hear it and I believe in it. You gave me an unintended boost of confidence in my artist ability. Thank you.
I am ready to share my artistic gift with you, but you can only claim it if you book a session. You would be surprised at how a simple connection can lead to an artistic vision. Connect with me HERE to book your session.
