I am really proud to show off Chanell’s session because she is the first person in her family to graduate from college. So her mom wanted to treat her to a session to commemorate this special occasion. It’s a special time for anyone, so I am very happy to get some beautiful pictures when she is so excited about life and what is to come. Chanell is just about to be a WMU graduate. Even though it wasn’t the most desirable weather, we still were able to get some amazing photos of her at my studio and we ran quickly to Western Michigan University’s campus, which by the way, is only a short 6 minute drive from my studio. It’s actually a straight shot from the road I am on. That makes it pretty convenient.
This is one of my favorite images – it’s in my top 10 for the year of 2014 – because of the blur on the side. You might think it’s a mistake or even made in post processing. It is actually one of the reeds from the plant that is between me and Chanell. I love it when there is something drawing the eye to the subject of the photo, and in this case it blurs out the side of the image forcing you to look where I want you to. I love it! I try so hard to create these types of visual effects in my camera instead of having to process them in after the image is created. So, Chanell, this is one of my favorites: All of the images from this location were perfect. Absolutely gorgeous! What’s great about this, is that I was at WMU’s campus three other times in two weeks. Each of those sessions were very different, even though they were in the same general location. Each one has it’s own look and feel. I’m so glad that this is what we captured for you because these are as gorgeous as you are! Are you kidding me? This is so stunning and shows off how amazing your yes are!
